Jammu & Kashmir: Security forces have killed two terrorists during an ongoing operation in Kupwara.
Kupwara (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], October 5: Two terrorists were killed by security forces during Operation GUGALDHAR in Kupwara on Sunday morning. The Indian Army reported that war-like supplies were recovered from the site.
The Indian Army stated, "Two terrorists have been eliminated by the security forces in the ongoing Operation GUGALDHAR. War-like stores have been recovered. Searches in the area are ongoing, and the operation is still in progress."
Previously, an exchange of fire occurred between security forces and terrorists in the Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, according to officials.
In a post on X, the Chinar Corps reported, "On October 4, 2024, a joint operation by the Indian Army and J&K Police was launched at Gugaldhar, Kupwara, based on intelligence regarding an infiltration attempt. Alert troops detected suspicious activity and challenged it, resulting in an exchange of gunfire with terrorists. The vigilant troops responded effectively. The operation is ongoing."
Earlier on Friday, there was also an exchange of fire between security forces and terrorists in the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials indicated.
Upon receiving specific intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists, security forces initiated a joint search operation in the Chatroo village of the Kishtwar district, they added.
