The director of 'Men in Black' recalls an incident involving Will Smith's farting on set.

Los Angeles, October 3: Barry Sonnenfeld, director of 'Men in Black,' recently shared on the podcast Let's Talk Off Camera With Kelly Ripa how a scene involving Will Smith led to an evacuation of the set for three hours due to Smith's flatulence.

Sonnenfeld recounted that the incident occurred while filming a sequence with Smith and Tommy Lee Jones in a car that transforms and travels at high speeds. The actors were sealed inside the pod for safety during filming.

As he prepared to start filming, Sonnenfeld heard Smith apologize, saying, "Oh Jesus, so sorry. Tommy, so sorry. Baz, get the ladder." It became clear to Sonnenfeld that Smith's flatulence had necessitated the emergency evacuation.

Sonnenfeld humorously noted, "You really don’t want to be inside a very small hermetically sealed space with a Will Smith fart."

The set was cleared for about three hours, and while Sonnenfeld acknowledged Smith's amiable nature, he remarked, "It's just some people are farters."

'Men in Black' premiered in 1997, with Sonnenfeld also directing its sequels, 'Men in Black II' in 2002 and 'Men in Black 3' in 2012.
